Student Tours for Young Students
In 2002, Prospect Hill Orchards broadened its retail marketing by hosting
tour groups on weekdays duringapple
season. We began with the focus on schools, offering a unique
program that resulted in a positive orchard experience:
School Groups visiting the orchard will receive:
A hayride
A seasonal story and hands on activity
1/2 peck of apples and a pumpkin picked by the children
Special theme programs at an additional charge
Johnny Appleseed
Cider Pressing
Apple Arts
Orchard Ecology
We
can accommodate up to 4 busloads of children at one time, but we prefer
to have classes arrive one or two at a time. Large groups of students
require the addition of one or more theme programs, so the groups are
small enough for everyone to have a good experience.
If you have a student in your family from preschool to middle school
age who would like to visit the farm, we would be pleased to host their
class. Contact Judy Clarke at 845-795-2383 for more information, scheduling
and fees.
Adult Tours
Adult motor coach tours are also welcome at the farm on weekdays
only during the apple harvest.
Dwarf trees make it easy to reach the fruit even at the top and
require no ladders to climb.
Picnic area can be used for group lunches. Located by a pond with
several picnic tables available.
Combine your trip to Prospect Hill Orchards with a visit to nearby
wineries, colleges including the Culinary Institute of America, Woodbury
Commons, or West Point.
